Whitby Abbey Visitor Centre

History

Whitby Abbey dates from 657 AD as a religious centre for Christianity. Following Viking raids, the Abbey was abandonded and later rebuilt by Benedictine monks before being supressed by Henry VIII in 1539.

Scope of Works

We thank English Heritage for entrustusing us to deliver the Solar PV system, carrying out design, supply and installation for the Historic Visitor Centre.

The project delivered 30 x 550W PV panels, 12KW inverter, cable and containment from roof to ground floor inverter position.

Power Generation now provides approximately 75% of the centres total power consumption during the summer months and 30% during winter.
